Well if the guy is a scam artist, he probably already has the
"experts" recommneded by his lawyer "examining" the car.

That guy from Southern Illinois University that 'demostrated a short circuit
of the Toyota gas pedal' testifies against Toyota for cash in legal cases.
He'd probably be the first guy to call.
