Except for the fact Automotive News is reporting that Toyotas engineers are
saying vehicles with conventional accelerator linkages are running away as
well.

Not so. Both domestic an imported models have been issued the stop sell
order.

According to Automotive News, the stop sale and production halt only
involves N.A. production. Which imported models have been issued the stop
sale order?

It's only north American production that has the problem. The defective
component comes from a U.S. parts supplier, and it's apparently not used
in the Japanese-produced Toyotas. However it's possible that they issued
a blanket order to stop selling because they don't want dealers and
consumers suddenly demanding only Japanese made vehicles.

Thank goodness this problem occurred on Toyotas and not Fords or GMs! We
all know the history of those companies when they discover
safety-related issues that clearly warrant a recall!
