The replacement fighter for the F-102 was the F-106 Delta Dart which had the engine the F-102 should have had. Most pilots that flew F- 106s wish they had one in their garage. The 102 was a rather sluggish AC in handling but we had one clocked at over 1200mph on Dewline radar. It was in a slight dive losing about 10,000 feet of altitude over 50-60 miles IIRC. > However F-102s were still active in Vietnam at the time Mr Bush > enlisted.
