My friend told me about OBD III so i went home and googled OBD III and
I was shocked at what read. They are planning to make a so called "Big
Brother" where if your check engine light goes on, the police will
know. They can pull you over and give you a citation if not fixed.
Also i heard it can check where you are and if you are speeding.

I doubt if the police in the U.S. would be very interested in chasing people
with illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MIL), A.K.A. check engine
lights unless they are desperate for income from tickets. It would be
simple enough to let everyone around you know that an MIL illuminated even
with an OBD I and OBD II vehicle, and as it is, a vehicle will not pass an
emissions test with the MIL on by having and external MIL. In Japan,
commercial vehicles have lights on the roof that indicate the vehicle's
speed, and it would be easy to implement here if Big Brother wanted to - one
light for 30 MPH, 2 for 55, and 3 for 70.

Vehicles have had that capability at least since 2000. Eventually, where
there are enough of the newer vehicles on the road, there will roadside
sensors much like they currently have for trucks at weigh stations where
they need not stop, to determine if your vehicle is polluting and you will
no longer have required emission inspections. The information is only
recorded for around eight to ten seconds. Read you owners manual, that
information is in there.

If you dive by and the sensor picks up your car as a polluter, you will be
sent an order to have your vehicle inspected and repaired within thirty
days. If you do not you will be required to send in you license plate
until you have the problem corrected.

Have you applied for an antique car plate yet? If you do you can save a lot
of money on insurance

It is only 20 in Delaware for an "Antique" plate and 25 in Pennsylvania for
an "Historic" plate. One can get a "Classic" plate in Pennsylvania after
ten years, if it is a "special interest" model that is no longer produced.
There are ten year old Corvettes, T-Birds and Cougars running around with
"Classic" plates. Use in limited however.
