Do you , think the NHTSA ordered a recall, I can't see why they should I got one voluntarily and our government hasn't taken any interest. When they do, they ban outright. Mosckvitch was complained about for always pulling to the side when the brakes were applied. A government department bought some, tested some on closed circuits and dismantled others, within weeks they said the design was at fault and all the Mosckvitch cars were proscribed. When Suzuki started to import cars, it was felt that in inexperienced hands, they were to likely to fall over whilst cornering. Same result, they were proscribed until the model was renewed with a wider track giving it more stability. Lada cars couldn't meet the emissions regulations, when they came in, same result. Possibly the reason that our accident rate is so low is that our testing is rigorous and regular (yearly). If the government seriously thought that Toyotas needed looking at, then by now they'd have been proscribed until the fault was fixed and they were satisfied. -- Clive
From: Mike Hunter on 16 Feb 2010 18:24 Do you mean you do not KNOW the Japanese government has been giving billions of Yen to Toyota, as well as all of the other Japanese corporations, ever since WWII? Why do you think the business world refers to Japan as "Japan Incorporated?" From: Mike Hunter on 16 Feb 2010 18:26 I guess you really do believe the NHTSA ordered the recall of 8,500,000 vehicle in the US on a whim. ;) "Clive" <Clive(a)yewbank.demon.co.uk> wrote in message news:fFg8GqWGJyeLFwk5(a)yewbank.demon.co.uk... > In message <4b7ae4f3$0$10149$ce5e7886(a)news-radius.ptd.net>, Mike Hunter > <Mikehunt2(a)lycos.?.invalid> writes >>Do you think the NHTSA ordered the recall of 8,500,000 vehicle in the US >>on >>a whim? > Do you , think the NHTSA ordered a recall,> Clive >
