Why should I? I'm here in the Toyota group, answering posts to the Toyota
group.

Did you buy it new or used?
I always used to have a hard time with used cars, so I always bought new.
I was going to buy a '78 SR5 hatch, but it was...gasp...an extra FOUR
HUNDRED DOLLARS! I wound up with a two door Corolla 5 speed, no SR package.

When a guy in a Mustang pulled out in front of me in 1980 I got the SR5
hatch, this on with a 1.8L at almost...100HP! WOW!

How long did you have the '76?

oookayyy...

Are you being serious? And if you are, are you not in the US?
The US spec cars didn't get the side draft carbs, but the UK and Oz models
did. I've heard of guys putting the DOHC head on those cars with the dual
sidedrafts. Some did do it with US cars but had to get the parts from
overseas. There was a guy in the toy group that modded and old
70-something Corolla, but he was from NZ and the parts were easier to come
by.

He also took a Pontiac Fiero and made it RHD.

Damn man, that's quite a list of mods! I had a '74, too...
(er, the 1200...first car..brand new...took all the money I had...)
I was going to get a '72 Celica but it had been wrecked and reassembled,
and Dad said, "NO!"
