I just like Toyotas and have taken to doing my own repairs in the last few years (85 Corolla GTS (Hachiroku) I've had since '86 and the "new" toy is an '88 Supra Sport Roof. That takes enough just to keep it running. It's a good car but has had a few issues since I bought it, so every year it gets about $60-800 thrown at it. It's getting a suspension this year and a body redo next. Very little rust so it's time to stop it. What year Supra did you have (or do you have?) Also in my stable were an '85 Celica GTS (245,000 miles when I bought it in '02, and it still hit 120 OK.) Fastest I have ever been was 130 in the stock Corolla in 1987, after that was one run up to 120 n the Celica and a run to 118 in the '05 Scion tC. Love the car, hate the seats. It's fun right out of the box, but like sitting at the kitchen table. You and Nick (who left the Toy group cause of all the political discussions) would have had a good time. He was the Kiwi that made the RHD Pontiac. He's only in his 20's but already had some stories to tell! My next project is to buy the Corolla FX down the street, transfer the 1.6L DOHC from the GTS and rework the suspension. I don't race, but I like a car that can handle well and get out of it's own wasy.
