From: ByTor on 29 Sep 2009 16:40 Like to thank all you guys for helping me out with your advice. I called the mechanic again & he confirmed to me that it is some type of small hole. Unfortunately, and I have to take this chance, I'm just going to take the chance for now, I hope its not something unsafe for my wife cus she is on the road a lot. Me & my DAMN principles!!!! I could have traded this in and got myself a $4500.00 handout of my own money, BUT NO I had to have a moral crisis. And everyone thought that $4500.00 was free huh? We bailed out the car companies, gave them 3 billion to boost car sales, and guess what sales are right back where they were. Looks like they are *delaying* the inevitable at the expense of the taxpayer.......HO HUM!!!

I am assuming that the hole is not in a pressurized part of the rack or you would see the ATF spurting out, or the hole is more of a weeping in the casting. You can try sealing the hole with epoxy or Devcon. Devcon is good stuff if you choose the right product and follow the directions without taking any shortcuts. If it doesn't work, you are only out the cost of the Devcon and if it does work, you have saved lots of money. -- Ray O (correct punctuation to reply)

Like I have said before, if Obama is handing it out, I'm right in front of the line. Unfortunately, the only car I had that qualified is the Supra, and I'll be *DAMNED* if that goes to the shredder!!! I'll part it out down to the bolts before that!

Ya know I asked him about that and I'm not sure if he's being biased cus he *makes* money doing the work as opposed to a quick fix. I dunno, I don't see him like that though. But to answer your question the hole is about 6 inches to the right of center in that rod housing thingy, Im not sure what to call it, sorry....(LMAO) But to answer another question I believe it is a weeping thing cus there wasn't much *spray* underneath. I had the fluid filled to max line yesterday and after my wifes trip it dropped little less than 1/2 inch......Best I can describe it. Thanks Ray O.......;0)

I dunno, I had a hard time with it cus it made no difference anyway in the grand scheme of things, car sales are back to the bottom again and 1200 dealerships are also set to close this year. They can't even sell the properties that other dealers existed on. So what's the car industry gunna do now eh, get in line AGAIN for us to bail em out or fail like they should have in the first place. > Unfortunately, the only car I had that qualified is the Supra, and I'll be > *DAMNED* if that goes to the shredder!!!
