Since vehicles like the Corolla did not qualify as a trade in for Cash for Clunkers, it's hard to blame that program for the cost of used Corollas. The top ten vehicles turned in under Cash for Clunkers were: 1. Ford Explorer 4WD 2. Ford F150 Pickup 2WD 3. Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 4. Jeep Cherokee 4WD 5. Ford Explorer 2WD 6. Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan 7. Chevrolet Blazer 4WD 8. Ford F-150 Pickup 4WD 9. Chevrolet C1500 Pickup 2WD 10. Ford Windstar The top ten vehicles purchased were: 1. Toyota Corolla 2. Honda Civic 3. Ford Focus 4. Toyota Camry 5. Hyundai Elantra 6. Toyota Prius 7. Nissan Versa 8. Ford Escape FWD 9. Honda Fit 10. Honda CR-V AWD So while the program did help sell many domestically produced vehicles, it didn't help U.S. nameplates very much. However it did get a lot of unreliable gas guzzlers off the road which is always a good thing. If anything, all those people buying new Corollas should have driven down prices on the used market because used Corollas were even less of a good deal than they normally are.

I lived with my parents for a few years after I finished college because I couldn't find a job in my field and 6 dollars an hour at Wal-mart doesn't go very far to paying the rent etc. in Chicago. When I first moved to Chicago, I shared an apartment, then a house with my brother. When his fiancee moved in, I moved out. Charles Grozny I've lived by myself for over 5 years now. My brother's been driving the Previa for 7 years now.
