It runs, tranny ok, no coolant/oil leak so far, brakes work. Had a shudder at 45 then improved to 50 then 55. Front tires had wear before getting stuck. Although I didn't intentionally spin the tires, some wear may have resulted. Probably need new tires on the front. (Needed before winter anyways.) Wondering if alignment may have been compromised? Steering is something I am curious about a bit also. Got some mild to moderate shudder like I mentioned and just a tiny tad of a bump on the steering wheel up and down. Niece said could be mud working out of crannies. Saw one sick earthworm in hubcap. Will hose off asap and go from there. Thanks very much!!

It is possible that pulling it out while the tires were still frozen damaged the belts, but I doubt it. If the shudder goes away after you hose off the inside and outside of the wheels, then no permanent harm is likely. I douvt if the alignment was compromised unless you physically bent or damaged a suspension part like a tire rod. -- Ray O (correct punctuation to reply) > Thanks very much!! > >

There is/was no ice in the equation today at the point of extraction from the mud. Very likely there continues to be mud in the wheels in any place it would stick. So, like you say, that is probably causing the lack of uniform balanced rotation. I am planning to go ahead and replace the tires friday along with an alignment. My focus to achieveing that objective now would be to get as much mud out of the front end as possible prior to having the alignment and tire replacement completed. I would suppose that there could be issues in the process of tire replacement/balancing and alignment if thing weren't clean enough. I would suppose too the vendor doing the work could be involved in any final cleanup prior to these things being done if cleared in advance. Thanks again, you're a nice guy to talk to!!

You're welcome! I benefitted from customer relations training by a previous employer ;-) I recommend that you take the car to a car wash and opt for whichever package includes an undercarriage wash. If the car still has a vibration, have the wheel balance checked. It is also possible that a wheel weight got pulled off. -- Ray O (correct punctuation to reply)
