If all you need is one that reads/clears codes ("code readers"), then
a basic $40 (on sale) OBD II/CAN should be fine. This one is branded
under different store brands.

But if you need freeze frame data and oxygen sensor waveforms
("scanners") then get a more advanced model. However, these won't have
the Toyota specific functions, such as tickling the ABS module.
