wheel alignment question for technicians....
Is it better to have a wheel alignment before buying new tires or after? If the old tires are on the car, the tech may see where adjustment is needed based on bad tread wear...or is the alignment machine so sophisticated that he would pay no attention to tire conditions. If new tires are already on the car wi... 10 Aug 2007 20:59
switching back and forth from mineral to synthetic oil
Camry 2002, 65000 miles, any problem if use once synthetic then switch back to mineral oil? I heard that having to stick to synthetic once you made the step is a myth. Always changed oil between 3000 and 5000 miles depending of usage. Do I have to use a better grade of oil filter than Purolator if using syntheti... 8 Aug 2007 20:26
Brake Caliper dust boot?
Our Camry is a 1995 V6 LE. I recently re&re'd the brake rotors with ATE Premium rotors and noticed one of the caliper piston (dust) boots was damaged (a cut in the folds). I doubt it will affect the integrity of the piston and sleeve for a little while, at least until the crappy weather starts up. The caliper i... 11 Aug 2007 02:06

2002 struts
I have a 2002 Camry with 117K trouble free miles. According to my dealer I should have replaced my struts 60K miles ago. I have done all my own maintence for years, brakes, trans service, filters, tuneups, etc. Is this a job for professionals or something I can do as a resonable & capable car guy. Also any good... 6 Aug 2007 02:03

Hi, I have a 93 Camry with 201K miles on it. As far as I know, the timing belt has never been replaced. The car died suddenly yesterday. Now it won't start. 88 Camry: are CV joints identical?
I have a 88 Camry 4 cyl station wagon. I have already replaced the CV joint on the LH side. Now I need to replace the RH side. THere is something different on the RH side, it looks like there is an intermediate bearing or something between the transaxle output and the CV joint. But Autozone shows only one CV joi... 4 Aug 2007 17:32
2003 TOYOTA CAMRY DRIVER POWER SEAT
I have a 2003 Toyota Camry LXE. While cleaning the car yesterday, I slid the driver's seat forward. After vacuuming underneath the seat, the seat would not slide backwards again. All other hydraulics to the seat work. I can hear it wanting to move, hear some clicking underneath the seat when I power the horizont... 31 Jul 2007 15:20
