I'd bet the IS (Altezza series) sells better in Europe than the US.

Let the dumb American drivers drive the dumb Toyotas.

Let me clarify where I'm coming from: I was ripped off with a 5 spd
Toyota Tercel "sporty edition" (spoiler and all) that didn't even have
an anti-roll bar. UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED! Further I believe that many
people that shouldn't be driving are happy to drive a little
automaticToyota, like my ex, who's a devout Christian and bought one.

This helps the dumbing down of American drivers to the point that they
are totally reckless phone in hand and Bible in another...

And I, the Wise Tibetan Monkey, ride a bike --or at least try to. ;)

Yeah, you had a Blackhawk. Spoiler, alloys, 5 speed transmission and a
whopping 1.5Liter FE series engine. If you got a body kit for it
aftermarket you could make it look like a BMW.

Now, tell us how you got ripped off? What the hell were you expecting from
an econobox like a Tercel? It had a 12.5L FE, fer Chrissakes!! The
'package' made it look sporty. Big deal. I had the next step down, with
the spoiler but no alloys or graphics. One press of the accelerator should
have told you you weren't driving a fire-breathing monster!

This could have been solved by installing a GE series engine, and it has
been done.

Better yet...

PS...you didn't get ripped off. You bought an Econobox and got one. They
were great little cars. I put 185/60-13s on mine and ran out of engine
long before I ran out of tire. I also put a cold air intake on it and
boosted the fuel economy from 38MPG overall to 44. With an automatic.

I wasn't expecting to beat any Ferraris, though.

VW fans are good people. But never trust Toyota drivers with bumper
stickers.

"We need Autobahn in America as well as bike facilities," tell the
sheep.

Chevy Chevette was more balanced. Slow but no surprises with the
steering.

Toyota should have made that car slower, or more balanced and no fake
looks. And PLEASE, throw in at least an anti-roll bar for the monkeys,
so they don't kill themselves.
