From: Mike Hunter on 21 Apr 2010 19:17 It is called Toyotas "Recall of the week." Toyota is finally doing what the law requires them to do, to avoid another $16,000,000 fine by the NHTSA. From: Mike Hunter on 23 Apr 2010 19:56 That may be your opinion but actually auto manufacturers are required by law to notify the NHTSA of safety problem within five business days after becoming "aware" of the problem and then issue a recall. That was why Toyota was fined $16,000,000 for delaying the "unintended acceleration" problem "me" <noemail(a)nothere.com> wrote in message news:f4b4t598oi8numtf2ro5gig2utrn4gjsja(a)4ax.com... > On Thu, 22 Apr 2010 08:03:31 -0700, "Wayne" <mygarbagecan(a)verizon.net> > wrote: > >> >>"me" <noemail(a)nothere.com> wrote in message >>news:iiuus55u5uohh250m0gudqr4i2rae9649i(a)4ax.com... >>> On Tue, 20 Apr 2010 07:29:54 -0700, "Wayne" <mygarbagecan(a)verizon.net> >>> wrote: >>> >>>>Nope....same problem on lots of other brands. NBC leads the list. With the US government in the car business, wouldn't it make sense to beat down your biggest rival?

The pinata whine doesn't hold water. - As a former GM owner I am convinced that if the government applied the same enthusiasm to examining GM products, there would be more problems uncovered than with Toyota. I shutter each time I rent a car and end up with a GM product.
