HOUSTON (AP) � Texas could appeal the Environmental Protection Agency's
rejection of a 16-year-old state air permitting program -- which the feds say
violates the Clean Air Act.

Gov. Rick Perry says Texas will continue to fight what he calls "this federal
takeover of a successful state program."

EPA's decision, announced yesterday, will force some 125 refineries and
petrochemical plants to invest millions of dollars to get new permits.
