The original estimate, from BP, was 1000 BPD. NOAA upped that to 5000
BPD, and then even more. NOAA was mistaken in accepting BP's estimate,
rather than making one of its own based on the available data (e.g., the
videos of the oil coming out of the pipe, the size of the oil slick at
the time, etc.). The current estimates range from 12,000 BPD (seems a
bit low considering that 15,000 are being captured) to as much as
100,000 BPD.

Estimates made with the video from the lo-def cameras. Surprise,
surprise, there are HD cameras. The rightwingnuts never read past the
headline.
