Not really. Ford's quality has been rising since the mid-90's. Now, if
their cars weren't almost as butt-ugly as Chryslers...

I had a '94 LHS, and that was a really good car. It was large but handled
as well as an '85 Celica I had, and that car handled pretty well

Ford has had their "moments", but Toyota has well. I would rate Ford as
approaching the quality expected from Honda or Toyota.
