When you say Asian counterparts, who are you including in Asia? I
doubt it includes the major Japanese makes - particualrly Toyota. I've
never bought the idea that all Japanese vehicles were better than all
American vehicles, but I suspect the average American car buyer would
still believe that on average Hondas and Toyotas are better than
Chevrolets and Dodges. Ford might have convinced many Americans that
Ford vehicles are on par with Toyota vehicles, but certainly most of
the long time Toyota buyers I know don't believe it - or at least have
a hard time admitting it might be possible. Despite being exposed to
several trouble free Fords I have owned, my SO still wouldn't buy one
(on the otherhand, I had no problem recommending a Toyota to my
Sisters and Mother - I thought certain Toytoas better met their needs
than any current Ford product).

I wonder what "http://www.autospak.com" has to do with the opinion of
the American public regarding domestic manufacturers. It is a Pakistan
car site...weird.
