Mixing multigrades is not something I would do unless there was no
alternative. Just a personal opinion.

Just a guess, wouldnt the two sets of long chain polymers just mix together
provided the 2 oil-bases were similar (not mineral and detergent for
example) and you'd end up with 7W-30? :-)

Yes it is OK. It would be preferable if they were the same brand, but even
if not it probably would not hurt anything.
