Xananews didn't display it either until I installed the East Asian
fonts. My laptop shows Hachi's Japanese characters but my desktop
computer won't even though I use the same newsreader. They are not
installed by default because they take up a lot of space.

Natalie jumped all over me a few years ago when I used the term
"oriental" instead of "asian" when describing people from the Far East.
We went back and forth about how Asia is much bigger than the Orient
and how there are Middle Easterns and other regional descriptions. You
are being politically incorrect and some lefty here is bound to give
you grief soon!

By the way, thanks for the electrical drawings.

I have Japanese, Chinese and other fonts installed and working, but
XNews refuses to see them. But I can live with that, because otherwise I
like XNews better than any other reader I've tried.

I refuse to use "Asian" simply because it covers too many different
races. "Oriental" also covers a bunch, but at least they are more
closely related than the ones gathered into the term "Asian".

Modern terminology tends towards the obfuscatory and euphemistic. And
where it does, I continue to use older terms. I will not be sucked into
muddying definitions just to be "modern".

What the hell happened to him? I know he was fed up with the OTs in this
group, but I haven't seen him in rec. either.
