Some people also don't think ahead months or years for the things they know they'll need to buy. The OP is not in this situation, though.

Les Schwab (popular chain on the W. Coast) will not do anything that could be a liability for them. You either pay for 4 or they will not do the work or even sell you the tires. Same for getting brake work done which is why it's a little more spendy. They use all new/refurb parts -- they do not use any of your existing parts that're normally replaced.

And then some people can't seem to think ahead more than an hour or two. This is what keeps 7-11 stores in business. If you have the ability to think ahead (to the next payday, next rent payment, etc.) you won't be running out of milk, bread or cigarettes at 10:30 PM and having to go to a convenience store and paying a premium for your lack of planning ahead. It's a classic sign of those who need public assistance. I might add that these are also the people who drive to the post office in their bathrobes to mail in their tax returns at 11 PM on April 15th. They seem to always be a day late and a dollar short. |
