Being under the hood every weekend is NOT my idea of a "good time".
How many coil packs have you gone through?

Had one, never will again. Unless I can find a decent Vanagon that is
*running*.

Even then, I think I'll stick to my Caravans.

At least I won't die from chronic depression. After driving a little
automatic Toyota, I'd consider harakiri. ;)

I think that mystique has been carefully crafted and doesn't square
with reality.

What's your share of the European market. I bet you can sell to the
Europan drivers few of the cars you design for dummies.

OK...benefit of a doubt time...if you look at my other posts related to
you.

Dude, you bought a TERCEL!!!!!!!!! You can't GET any more econobox than
the Tercel, at least for the time. The "...hawk" packages were cool
looking, but that was it! No fire-breathing GE series engines...a wheezing
1.5L FE (The F series engines denote "economy".

SHould have gotten a tC or an AE92, but I don't think the GTS Corolla was
still on sale when you bought your Tercel. You were scraping the bottom of
the barrel for a 'ricer'. Not the way to go.

Now, if you want to talk Toyotas...

Don't buy an econobox and expect to rice it out. It has been dne, but
you're better off starting with one of the above cars.

They are NOT the highest performance cars, not even the Supra.
Performance is adequate for the class. But the cars that offer more
performance in the same class don't have the durability or the
reliability, or are outpriced. Nissan and Mitsubishi, for the same class
make higher performance cars, but expect to have things go wrong.
And we won't even talk about STis or WRXs if all you could afford was a
Tercel.

Europe has high tarriffs on cars from out of the EU. So, those poor people
are stuck with junk like VWs and AUDIs. Ah, well..
