That is what I think as well, and it as such it would suite my Mother.
However, I think it may be too tall....

I can't see my Mother in the Flex - too big and slightly odd looking.
Now it is had fake wood siding and was called Country Squire.....

Too small / low. Not even close to what my Mother wants.

To me the Flex seems too big. The chassis design is essentially the
same as the Freestyle / Taurus X, but the body design, while
practical, is too bus like and the vehicle just looks too big. I guess
I should show her one, but I can't see it being her choice. We might
look at an Edge as well, but after looking at pictures, it seemed she
like the Toyotas (Highlander / Venza) better. I wouldn't be opposed to
her getting an Edge, but I think the Venza might be a better choice.

I have to wonder about Ford's decision to drop the Taurus X (aka
Freestyle). I see lots of them around my area (Central / Eastern NC)
and rarely see a Flex at all. I t seems to me that Ford did almost no
promotion of the Taurus X while promoting the heck out of the Flex,
and still the Taurus X sold more. I think it was a mistake not to
include a Station Wagon version of the new Taurus...

I don't see a lot of them, but when I am in Keene NH I see a few of them
around.
I kinda like it. Remember, I like quirky looking Japanese cars, the
quirkier, the better.

It sure looks roomy enough to be able to carry my gear, the PA system, and
the guitar player's stuff. We have kind of a good sized PA, and it seems
it would fit.

Up at Stratton Mt VT yesterday I was playing tag with one of these:

I *LIKE* it! Your Mom wouldn't...

One of the favorites of the geriatric crowd is the Windstar van. Very easy
entry/egress.

Unfortunately, even though it is based on a Taurus, it is also one of the
least reliable vehicles Ford has built. Based on the 3.8L engine, have
spare head gaskets available at about 120,000 miles...also, ethanol in the
fuel was responsible for melting the plastic intake runners!
