Looks like Toyota is finally taking responsibly for their millions of cars
that can "run away." At first they blamed their dumb customers for not
knowing how to drive, much like they blamed their dumb customers that they
said did not know how to change their oil, when millions of Toyota engines
developed sludge.

They are recalling several million cars to replace the accelerator that can
catch on the carpet. Seems Toyotas "run away" problem is caused by the
engineers decision to save some money by using the same accelerator, that
they use on Toyotas around the world that are equipped with rubber floor
mats, as those that are equipped with carpets. ;)

Yeah, GM or Ford never made a cost saving move that turned into a
disaster...

Pinto= fire bomb.
Any mid to late 80s Ford w/ EFI = fire bomb.
Late model Ford brake switches= fire bomb.
Ford E chassis ambulance= fire bomb.
Ford 2 valve 5.4; three threads holding the spark plug in.
Ford 3 valve 5.4; spark plugs seize in the cylinder head.
Ford Focus= most recalled vehicle in history in its first year
(actually beat the 1980 GM X body title)
6.0 liter 'Powerjoke.'

GM X body brake recalls.
GM using the Chevette automatic transmission in full size cars.
GM Fiero front suspension from a Chevette.
5.7 liter Diesel. (gas motor into a Diesel)
Any small block Chevy camshaft from 1967 to 1988.
(they don't need to be hardened)
3.8 liter plastic intake manifolds.
Multec injectors.
CPI injectors.
Tuned Port injection.
Intake manifold gaskets that only took GM 10 years to improve.
That unmistakable GM rotting dash pad smell/drooping headliner.
The first 3 years of 700R4 transmission production.
(bet your new van won't make it from Chicago to Milwaukee)

Of course all of this and more resulted in promotions and bonuses for
cronies like you.

I could type for hours...

So why do all the dumb customers gravitate only towards Toyota?

Why do Camrys without floor mats runaway, as alleged in the Alberto
lawsuit? Or accelerate out of control when a Prius owner tried to
resume cruise control?

What do smart customers drive? ;) ;) ;)

I personally think it's just engineering defect. And Toyota needs to
fix that.
