Corvairs? I had one back in the 70's but I didn't know enough about cars
then to bother with it. Wish I had, it was a FUN car! Had the three on the
floor, er, that is, what was LEFT of the floor. Had a sign in the back of
the driver's seat: Emergency Brake: Fred Flinstone style. DO NOT put your
feet flat on the floor!

Other than that and the usual oil leaks these things had, it was a good
car. I live about 8 miles from Clark's Corvair Parts, where, if they can't
FIND it, they MAKE it!

I just wanted to send "john" running around in circles with his hands over
his ears yelling "Unclean! Unclean!"

;)

Oh, back in ~1992 I saw one, bright orange, with this massive cowling in
the rear seat. The guy had hacked a 350 into the back seat to drive the
rear wheels. When the light turned green he lifted the front about 8
inches!

Then there was always the turbo. Yeah, they were good cars.

Saw a 63 Corvair sold for $35,000 at Barrette Jackson. I never say an old
Toyota sold there, however ;)

From '65 on, they were as safe as any other, and up to '64 they were
EXACTLY the same as a VW as far as the "unsafe" handling was
concerned.

Are you sure it was a "hack"
There were proffessional conversions. The Crown Corv8 was a fairly
common one. Talk about a SLEEPER!!!!!!

You must be very young if you think a 2000 is an old car LOL
