From: edv on 29 Mar 2007 02:34 Had this squeak from the drivers seat during the cold season, it never really bothered but my 3 yr old asked if we had a bird inside the car. Anyway, its gone now that weathers back to normal. It seems to me the squeak comes from the inside of the fabric, my seat is not moving at all but squeaks when I tried bouncing on the cushion. I dont wan't to rip the fabric out and see but I imagine there are some sensors inside the seat? like the front passenger seat knows if the airbag should be on / off depending on the passengers weight. It's really not an old car (9K+ miles) and I'm not heavy.

If you're still in warranty, you should ask your dealer about the squeak. I've seen TSBs out before for a "seat track squeak," for example US TSB NV009-01 on the 2001 Prius (fix is a Toyota part, a protective film to replace the squeaking protective felt in the seat tracks and cross member). If out of warranty, maybe your Toyota parts department has some parts in stock to help you out.
