No opinions .? Even on Kia in general? I think they're on to something
at Kia. If I needed a new car tomorrow I'd get this forte. I read that
they may be coming out with a hatch on this model so I'll hold off
(hopefully) till the camry redesign to decide between the 2.

Pricewise it's the forte. Better mileage and it runs like a rabbit for
a 4 banger. Feels like a quick 6..And more room than a corolla-which
felt cheaper than the Kia..

Only thing I didn't like about the forte was you can't get the 5 speed
auto trans 'with' the sunroof unless you upgraded to the most
expensive model..Obviously they're steering to the highest cost
model..

Ok... After reading the problem posts at the alt.kia group, I'm over
this. But I think they've come a loooong way. I guess in 4 or 5 years
mebbe..

I think another question might be, "How closely can you copy a Honda Civic
and not actually end up with a Honda Civic?"

Kia does NOT have the greatest reputation among the professional auto
repair crowd. A Kia is good as long as you intend to keep it only until the
warranty is up, and don't mind it being in the shop a lot while the
warranty is valid.

My brother-in-law used to sell for a Hyundai dealership (Hyundai is to Kia
what Chevrolet is to Pontiac). He said, "You get what you pay for. If you
want a Toyota get a Toyota". And he said that while he was still working
for the dealership.

Sure wish toyota would hire some designers from Cali the way Kia did.
I love my toy. But sure wish they put the same ummph in the outward
designs.. I don't mind the price of toyotas. I love the looks of the
forte for that segment.
