I took my Tacoma in today to have the frame inspected..They want to buy it
back!

1999 Tacoma, V6, 4w/d, extended cab, Auto - ONLY 29,000 Miles!!!
I inherited the truck 3 years ago, It only had 3,000 mile on it when I got
it.
Stepdad only used it to plow his driveway.

The say they will offer me $18,500 give or take a couple of hundred....

Or I can keep the truck!! What to do??

I'd like to sell the fisher quick mount plow before I give it back.
What would it be worth?

My truck is an 03 and not in the recall. Even if it was, I would be on the
fence as I like taking mine off the beaten path and its a great truck for
doing so. If they bought mine (or even if I sold it today), I'd get a new
one and my off-roading would be restricted. Why? Its a new truck and also a
harder truck to maneuver in tight spots compared to the older Tacoma.

If you don't off-road, and you have a few $1000 to put on top of the $18000
for a new truck, I would go for it. You'd have a new truck paid off quicker
plus you'd have a new truck!

I had mine bought back.

If your's failed, I don't know who would tell you that they will buy
it or you can keep it.

If it fails, according to the Toyota Service Bulletin, they are
supposed to park the truck and not let ANYONE drive it ever again.

It is then to be taken to a crusher without anyone taking parts off
it.

They will allow you to take off any installed options.

What they basically do is give you 150% of Kelly Blue Book value. Plus
any other incentives. I had a 2004 4x4 reg cab, they gave me almost
19K with all the incentives.

But as to whomever told you that you had any options, someone is
telling a fib.
