It is either R134a or R12. If R12, you cannot charge it. If R134a, then you
can.

All vehicles sold after 1993 have R134-A refrigerant. You can confirm this
by looking for a sticker or label somewhere in the engine compartment, on
the under side of the hood, on the radiator cross support, receiver-drier,
or compressor.

To properly charge the AC system, you will need a vacuum pump with a
refrigerant recovery system, a scale, AC gauges, and the proper refrigerant.

Could be Suva instead of Freon (as has already been said, sorta)

Freon is DuPont's trademark name for CFC and HCFC refrigerants made by them
and R12 is a CFC refrigerant.

Suva is DuPont's trademark name for HFC refrigerants made by them and R134a
is an HFC refrigerant.
