I saw this summary of which Toyotas were recalled for which accelerator
based problem and thought it would be useful information for the group:

TOKYO -- Since last fall, Toyota has recalled 8.1 million vehicles globally
in two recalls aimed at resolving incidents of unintended acceleration in
Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Here is roundup of all the key facts:

.. FLOOR MATS:

Oct. 5, 2009 -- Toyota told NHTSA it would recall the following cars to fix
floor mats that can jam the accelerator pedal:

2007-2010 Camry

2005-2010 Avalon

2004-2009 Prius

2005-2010 Tacoma

2007-2010 Tundra

2007-2010 Lexus ES350

2006-2010 Lexus IS250/350

Jan. 27, 2010 -- Toyota extended the floor mat recall to the following
vehicles:

2008-2010 Highlander

2009-2010 Corolla

2009-2010 Venza

2009-2010 Matrix

2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe, made with GM through a joint venture

Total vehicles recalled: 5.75 million

United States: 5.35 million

Canada: 400,000

.. STICKING PEDALS:

Jan. 21, 2010 -- Toyota tells NHTSA it will recall the following cars to fix
accelerator pedals that can become harder to depress, slow to return, or --
in rare cases -- stuck. Over the following week, it extends the recall to
other countries.

2007-2010 Tundra

2008-2010 Sequoia

2005-2010 Avalon

2007-2010 Camry

2009-2010 Corolla

2009-2010 Matrix

2009-2010 RAV4

2010 Highlander

2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe, made with GM through a joint venture

Total vehicles recalled: 4.45 million

United States and Canada: 2.58 million

Europe: 1.71 million

China, Middle East, Africa, Latin America: 160,000

About 2.1 million cars are affected by both recalls worldwide. That puts the
grand total of cars affected by recalls at 8.1 million worldwide.

Funny how the author does not bother to list some critical numbers. I state
some of them here:

Recalled Toyotas: 8.1 million.

Incidents of stuck Toyota accelerators worldwide: 12

Percentage of Toyotas with stuck gas pedals: 0.00014%

Deaths due to stuck accelerators: 1 (maybe)

Percentage of cars involved in deaths, that also had stuck accelerator
pedals: 0.00001%

Number of deaths worldwide attibuted to sudden acceleration in Toyotas: 16

Percentage of Toyotas involved in such deaths: 0.00019%

Portion of SUA incidents in Toyotas due to /pedal misapplication/: unknown
so far

Portion of SUA incidents in Toyotas due to /mechanical defects/: unknown so
far

Number of media outlets wringing their hands over the fact that Ford
accounts for 28% of SUA incidents: 0

This one is not accurate. In San Diego, a stuck pedal took four lives, the
driver, his wife, their daughter, and the wife's brother. But, taking this
correction into account, the percentage is still very low.

8.1 million world wide? That is even worse than then 5.4 million being
mentioned in the media

Really? The media is reporting 19 deaths thus far, in the US alone
