Because you can.

I own an IPod touch and 3 cars that could use it. I can actually sit
in my living room and, when the kid comes in the driveway, see what
his car is doing before he shuts it off.

I can, using the touch, record any of the many metrics over a period
of time. I can even select up to three to record at the same time. I
can use this to see that somethings right or wrong.

I can take the plx device out of my car and put it in another car with
no problem. There are new apps coming out for the plex device to
allow your pee-cee to see it too. It's only wi-fi after all.

Get the PLX, then use it as an excuse to get an IPod Touch. :)

I think that there would be much less discord in the O household if I waited
for the Blackberry version or waited until a problem popped up in Mrs. O's
vehicle that was beyond the capabilities of the OBD II scanner I already
have. I guess I shouldn't have fixed the P0051 problem on her Sequoia last
week so quickly :-(
