Amazing stuff.... electrics have such a gargantuan amount of torque straight out of the box. My hope is that this technology can move right along at nearly the pace of one of these streamlined cars: MUCH is known about electric motors right NOW. Fortunately that leaves engineers pretty free to develop energy storage systems. And as soon it gets more developed, it is my hope that we will see a resurgence in American manufacturing. Because powertrain costs should come way down against the increased costs of energy storage, I can imagine that vehicle costs can be brought down to affordable levels in the near future. If U.S.manufacturers choose not to price-gouge us, we may see a day when Korean cars are not such a coveted alternative. In the meantime, for the sake of competition, I wish them well. __________________________________________________ |
