From: JohnB on 25 Sep 2008 16:48 I'm looking for a recommendation for low-dust brake pads for my '03 Tacoma. I say "low dust" because I understand there's no such thing as "No dust". Thanks

From: zonie on 25 Sep 2008 22:33 I have never had a problem with dust. I use only genuine Toyota pads. Scott -- Message posted using http://www.talkaboutautos.com/group/alt.autos.toyota.trucks/ More information at http://www.talkaboutautos.com/faq.html
From: johngdole on 26 Sep 2008 00:49 Toyota buys different batches. The Akebono ones are good. Akebono ProAct Ceramics on www.rockauto.com or www.tirerack.com. ProAct is the standard version, Tirerack may have stronger "Street Performance". The following for 2.7L: AKEBONO ProACT Part # ACT799 {Front Brake Pads 4WD all; 2WD Pre-Runner only Ceramic ProACT #7671D799} $54.79 $0.00 $54.79 AKEBONO Part # ACT589 More Info {ProACT Ultra Premium Ceramic Pad} RWD; Ceramic; with 9.8" rear drum; Original Equipment Ceramic; Front $56.89 $ On Sep 25, 1:48 pm, JohnB <jbri...(a)gmail.com> wrote: > I'm looking for a recommendation for low-dust brake pads for my '03 > Tacoma. > I say "low dust" because I understand there's no such thing as "No > dust". > > Thanks
From: JohnB on 26 Sep 2008 09:53 Ok, I think I'm going to go with the Adebono's And it looks like I'm going to have to figure out if I have the 9.8" or 11.6" rear drums, to determine which pads to use up front. I'm going to also replace the rotors. They're warped. I should probably start a new thread on this.... I'm wondering if other Tacoma owners have had problems with the front rotors warping. Mine warped when the truck was barely a year old. The dealer replaced them. Then a couple years ago, I has them turned, they were warped, but not so much they couldn't be turned to fix the problem. Now they're warped again. Thanks for the suggestion. On Sep 26, 12:49 am, johngd...(a)hotmail.com wrote: > Toyota buys different batches.
