Not even with a coil ringer? It tests a lot more thoroughly than an
ohmmeter can.

You can't push 20K volts through the coil using a VOM, and that's the
primary problem. You can't find degraded windings or compromised case
insulation with a tiddly little 1.5 or 3 volts.

A coil ringer can't test case insulation, at least not directly (a
megger can), but it can find bad insulation on windings. And in one
Honda forum, a person even mentioned the Bob Parker coil ringer:

You can by firing up the car and grabbing a hold of each wire!

Yup, you sure can! That was 34 years ago, and I can STILL feel it!!!
