My Toyota Highlander had a multi function display (MFD) which
shows outside air temp, mileage, and other interesting information.
Every 5000 miles this display goes to "Maintenance Required" and
it won't go away. The dealer resets this when he does the 5000 miles
routine maintenance. I would like to be able to shut the "Maintenance
Required" display off so that I can do the routine maintenance on
the car.

My question: How do I shut this display off and revert it back to
its normal information mode?
