From: Aratzio on 12 Jun 2010 01:08 It is so nice when the facts are ALWAYS on my side. We can save 8 billion a year just by reducing and closing foreign bases http://www.comw.org/pda/fulltext/1006SDTFreport.pdf Reduce troops in Europe and Asia, cut end strength by 50,000 $80 b.
From: Mike Hunter on 12 Jun 2010 13:09 That would be a start, at least we should reduce the number of troops off shore. It is time for other counties to begin to provide for their own national defense for a change. We should begin with Canada providing for their own defense forces. Especially since the radar sites were automated. What bases and troop deployments do you think we have in Canada? Now they are covered by us in event of war, but that is good sense, we share a border. Building a Maginot line is stupid if the country next door has nothing.
