From: Frank on 27 Jul 2010 15:00 Can the US not be far behind, now that the government has taken over control of our healthcare system? I received a notice from my "Senior Blue Advantage" plan today saying that future plan cost will be based on ones age. The base fee for each of us goes up $73 and the monthly cost will go up automatically on January first, every five years after age 65, up to age 80, then the fee remains the same. I will not be affected by the new fees but I will have to pay $45 more a month for my wife, come January who turned 75 this year, a total of $135 more every month. Co-pays go up from $15 and $25 to $25 and $50, as well. Curiously the new application we must file asks the question: "Do you own a hand gun?" Are they afraid we may kill ourselves if the new government insurance, that was supposed to cost less, cost too much? ;) "gb" <gb(a)amusenet.com> wrote in message news:h9ut46phqs30dal64gsdc051qh2hak08hs(a)4ax.com... > On Sun, 25 Jul 2010 08:37:27 -0700 (PDT), walt tonne > <tonnewalt487(a)gmail.com> wrote: > >>On Jul 25, 6:18 am, walt tonne <tonnewalt...(a)gmail.com> wrote: >>> On Jul 25, 6:07 am, walt tonne <tonnewalt...(a)gmail.com> wrote: >>> >>> >http://www.aolnews.com/world/article/germany-considers-tax-on-the-obe... >>> >>> > About time somebody made the move. > > That's all very nice, but really the tax should be levied by Greece, > Crete and Cyprus instead. > > That's where most of the visual pollution occurs. > > And that way the tax would be broader and fall more on those who can > afford the Mediterranean vacations.

I know it's not polite to stare but I stood and watched. It was something else, he got off the scooter and was headed the wrong way, he couldn't just turn, he had to waddle a U-turn so he was aimed towards the car. No way he could drive, he was a passenger and backed up to the seat and "plop" in he went. He fit but just barely and the car dropped a good 4 inches. Fascinating to watch.
