This is a question that has been bandied about for several years in the groups. Fram has a really bad reputation, but it is not certain that its filters are all that bad. Nevertheless, I stay away from them. If you change your oil ever 3000 miles, and you drive 18000 miles per year, that is only 6 oil changes. Oil filter price differential is all but negligible. I would like to see a REALLY comprehensive test series and evaluation on the various filter manufacturers product, but I dont think we are likely to see that soon.
