I have my camry in the shop for some body work and I rented a car and
got a Kia Rio. It's been a couple of days and I'm ready to knife
someone to get my almost 10 year old Toyota back. This POS Kia is
fast for a 4 but that's where it ends; It's a 2010 !! I should be
'wanting' one.. Instead I can't wait to get rid of it. As time goes
by I'm more attached to my camry than ever. Will they ever make 'em
like this again. I have serious doubts.

I actually like the Kia Rio. The Toyota dealer I worked for also sold
KIAs. They are made like mid 80's Toyotas, and I like that kind of car.

Their reliability is horrible, though. The only heads we kept in stock on
the parts shelf were KIA 1.6L heads, two at all times...

Dunno, a friend of mine has had one for 2-3+ years, and I think it's
been fairly trouble free. I think his only real gripe so far is that
it
doesn't have an OD gear for the highway, and revs a bit high compared
to say my Corolla. I think his son is driving it at school now, so
don't
know how it's held up to the likely extra abuse lately.
We've checked out the Rio, vs my Corolla side to side a few times,
and both agree that the Corolla is the better car of the two.
But.. they cost more than the Rio too.. I think a new one was under
$10k
when he bought his. Won't be finding a new Corolla for that price.

I like the forte. This rio felt really cheap. But I guess because it
IS really cheap. I like the forte because it reminds me of the older
toys. I liked the old toyotas that had toyota spelled out on the
grill. If the reliability comes up on the forte and other kia models
I'll get a forte. But I won't hold my breath.
