Yeah, that's one perspective. Try owning a 2007 Camry with a
transmission that skips gears, and the only way to fix it, according
to Toyota, would be to replace it with a new transmission and junk the
old one (Jan 2007 Toyota TSB).

Wonder what it will cost for after-warranty service?

The 07 transmission defect IS a secret, please dont tell that to
anybody ;) people might stop buying the camry and toyota sales may go

Or the new V8 Tundra crankshaft failures. Toyota decided not to recall
the engines but to find other ways of fixing them. Like sending
service managers wearing dark sunglasses over. Sssssshhhhhhhh wanna
get a new engine?
