What looks like long tubes are actually sandbag dikes covered with plastic. In some cases the water is touching the dikes, in some cases it hasn't reached them yet. Take a look now and then look again on Sunday afternoon as it crests. The bridge you see is oriented north-south and runs over a tributary called Rose Creek. As you can will see, the water is about a foot below the span. Several bridges crossing the Red have already been closed, and several more will be closed by tomorrow. The Corp of Engineers and Fargo are planning a major diversion project. The proposed diversion channel runs right through the home/hobby farm of one of my good friends. He has made major improvements to his property and has a huge project in the works. Cripes, what does a person do? The project is expected to take a decade and is subject to the usual modifications. He doesn't know if he should fish or cut bait.
