I was looking for a couple of Pure One air filters for the Camry and
Civic, when I noticed that a lot of what is on the shelves in auto parts
stores is no longer US-made. It's made in China. Anyone know of a good,
reasonably-priced supplier of aftermarket air and oil filters, that will
show or tell me where they are made?

Quick google shows http://cfpfilters.com carries a "complete line" of
Mann filters. I've never thought of using Mann or Hengst in Asian
cars, these are for primarily European cars. I don't know if they
"rebox" Asian filters like other major parts makers that are also one-
source parts distributors (AC Delco, Bosch, Fel Pro, etc).

I think online Toyota dealers can get you good deals (but you pay
shipping) as with dealer coupons. IMO air filters for any car I would
use OEM only. Oil filter I'd use either Bosch Filtech or Purolator
PureOne (same company now), the last time I checked these are still
made in the USA. I'm not sure the Mobil-1 is worth 2x the cost.

For 5SFE, Mann air filter MA1010 $10.89 and oil filter ML1009 $5.42.
Again, I don't know if these are rebox or not.

I saw that site. It seemed so general (non-automotive) that I
wasn't sure it would be a good place to search for auto filters. Also, I
don't specifically need Mann filters, just good quality filters that
aren't made in China. I'm not sure now, but the PureOne filters were
either not on stock for the Camry and Civic, or were now being made in
China. Hopefully the former...anyway, I'll see what the shipping is at
that site. Thanks.

It's Dallas Toyota and they have filters for $12.26 for the Camry,
plus shipping of course. $10.82 for the Corolla.

Again, for import air filters it's only OEM for me, be it Mann,
Hengst, Denso, etc.
