From: Hachiroku ハチロク on 29 May 2010 23:01 "I can see Russia from my front porch" A lot of people think it was Sarah Palin that said this, however, it was really Tina Fey. Guess who wins the Mark Twain award? Mark Twain Prize Goes To Tina Fey Compiled by DAVE ITZKOFF Published: May 25, 2010 When we last saw Liz Lemon, the hapless, harried television alter ego of Tina Fey, below, she seemed to have found true love at last with an airline pilot who just happened to be played by Matt Damon. Though the romantic entanglements of Liz tend not to last too long, her creator and performer is about to receive an honor that's a little more enduring. On Tuesday the Kennedy Center announced that it would present its annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Ms. Fey, the “30 Rock” star, “Saturday Night Live” alumna and occasional cribber of punch lines from her daughter, Alice. In the 13-year history of the prize, Ms. Fey will be its third female recipient: it was previously presented to Lily Tomlin in 2003 and Whoopi Goldberg in 2001. In a statement Ms. Fey said: “I am truly thrilled to receive this honor. I assume Betty White was disqualified for steroid use.” Ms. Fey is to receive the award on Nov. 9. FIrst the Nobel Prize to Obama for doing nothing, and who has still done nothing and now this. Feh.

Fey's good, but not good enough. The prize should've gone to Sarah Palin.

Feh. Is Word Salad Sarah really a conservative? I don't think so. She never gave me the sense that she actually understood the underlying foundation of Conservatism and how it differs from the Republican Party's planks. I bet she can't really articulate the changes in the republican party through the decades and elections.
