I got all nerved up over nothing. I think the stories I had heard were from the good old day of semi-rigid...
From: ron on 30 Oct 2009 23:16 I was in for one Monday - he had me prep with Mag Citrate and Dulcolax -like a frigging mini-atom bomb - it does clean you out - It had been 10 years and he came in said its fine, see you in 10 years and I said doc, I'll be 81 and might just say to hell with it, The test is a snap but 36 hours of cleaning out isn't pleasant to me Peace of mind is good though. You know the ones we swallowed in class when the teacher asked, "Do you have gum in your mouth?" Actually what I'm interested in is the cost. How much did the insurance pay, what was your out of pocket cost? Things like that. I know it's just to expensive any more for me to have done. Out of pocket costs now days would be a couple of thousand bucks that's after paying 4K/year for health insurance. I had one done 10 years ago and out of pocket costs were maybe a couple of hundred if any. The anesthesiologist got paid as much as the doctor. Main problem was drinking that super pooper stuff the night before and getting home afterwards, they said I wasn't allowed to drive home and my lady friend had to drive, it was raining and she almost wrecked the car, so I took over and drove the rest of the way home. |
