"Wild Bill" Donovan was head of the OSS, which was formed during
WWII. The CIA was created a few years after WWII, under authority of
the National Security Act, which also established the Dept. of
Defense.

I don't know what the Nazis called their intelligence agencies, but
SAS also stands for Special Air Service, one of the British special
forces (they also have the Special Boat Service).
