Congress has revised drug sentancing concerning crack cocaine for Federal
cases.

GOOD THING! The ONE law that Obama should pass!

(Wait a minute...is this Hachiroku, the Conservative nimrod, cheering a
REDUCTION in Federal sentences for criminals?!?!?)

You betcha!

Those of you who don't know my backstory, there is a REASON I run Linux!
(everything is free....GNU public licensing...Public Domain, etc etc.
Can't go to prison for running Linux!!! ;) )

I met a LOT of guys who were there for 18, 20, 25, 30 years for possession
of crack. Mostly black, and from inner cities. Why were they there so
long? Selling in school areas? Massive amounts? Drug cartel members?

Nuh uh...think about this: on the news there is a story about a drug bust,
with "street values of $1M". Now, take the way they figure the dollar
amount, multiply it 100 times, and that's how the Federal Government
figures the amount of cocaine it took to make a gram of crack. Three
2-gram chunks of crack worked out to be about the equivalent of a mound of
coke the size of a Ford Excursion. And sentencing was based on that amount
of cocaine! So guys who should have been getting maybe 5 years were
getting 20.

I hope he makes the guidelines retroactive...
