From: Hachiroku ハチロク on 30 Jul 2010 20:41 I'm offering a tour for you. I know as good liberals you are probably also ecologically 'sensitive', and aside from Global Warming 'feel' for the Polar Bears, otters, waterfowl and other wildlife. I'm offering a tour for you. You and any of you ilk who want to can spend the day in a rubber boat off of Cape Cod, on me, to go out and cavort with the seals that come here this time of year. They are cute, cuddly little critters and love to frolic with humans! Just give me a date, and I will set it up for you! All expenses paid. Since I am a nasty Conservative, I will spare you from my 'fellowship', and allow you to spend the day musing on Obama, Democrats, and blame everything on Bush and those dirty conservatives. A fun time is guaranteed for *ALL !!! The shark news is that a great white, the ocean's largest predatory fish, also known as white death, was hooked a few days ago 20 miles off the coast of Massachusetts, not far from where the movie Jaws was filmed. At 150 pounds, it was just a kid (a full-grown white weighs in at over 5,000 pounds), but plenty big enough to take off an arm or a foot-full of toes. It was landed and tagged by the crew of Sweet Dream III, a Gloucester-based tuna boat, and released about 270 miles up the beach from us -- or 11 hours away if the toothy killer decided to head straight our way at the white's top speed of some 25 miles per hour. A shark expert on TV said that sightings of great whites have increased because of growing seal populations. He recommended that we should avoid swimming with seals. PS: If *I* want to swim with sharks, I'll get a job on Wall Street! ;p http://davegranlund.com/cartoons/wp-content/uploads/color-jaws-35th-web.jpg

So many assumptions. I could kayak if I can rent a Wilderness Systems Tempest 170. I was kayaking off North Captiva Island a couple of years a go near a pod of dolphins. One past me going the opposite direction only about 5 feet from me. The breathing sound was nothing like on film. I sounded like a human breathing out and drawing in a quick breath. It's not all conservatives, although I usually paint with a wide brush, it is the neo-cons. Do you think all the 41 Republican Senators think exactly alike? I don't. We have conserva-dems and you have centrist republicans, but our conserva-dems don't vote in lock- step with the rest of the party. That was one off the things I began to dislike about the republican party - they were more loyal to party and not country. Organizing democrats is like herding cats and I'm a cat person. I'm sure we's have a great time out there communing with nature and having a few beers, as long as you don't have plans to toss me overboard a mile or 2 from shore. ;-)
