I got a notice last week saying my coverage was ending today, because I failed to return the supplied form (since I technically work "part time", my employer does not extend haelth care to me...). WHen I called yesterday, I was greeted by a recording: "please enter your social security number". After I passed that, it said, "Please enter your date of birth." After I passed that it said "We received your eligibitlity form on April 16, 2010". So, I pressed 0. "Thanks for calling, how may I help you?" "I received a letter saying you didn't receive my eligibility form". "That's right. We should have received it by April 30th." "But...the computer answering system says you received it April 16th!!!" "Our records indicate we did not receive it." "But, I attached two pay stubs, and a note explaining that I am paid bi-weekly. I remember spefically attaching the note to the pay stubs." "Well, our records indicate we have not received it." "But...the computer answering system says you received it April 16th!!!!!!! So, am I now without coverage, AGAIN, for the THRID TIME IN 18 MONTHS?!?!?!" "I'm afraid so. I'll have to send another eligibility form. Please attach one pay stub with a note saying you get paid bi-weekly." "Uh...sure...OK...." Yup. Gummint healthcare is THE WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
