Or can they?

Copenhagen, Denmark - About 100,000 demonstrators took to the streets of
Copenhagen in Denmark Saturday to call on world leaders to deliver a fair,
ambitious and binding global deal on climate change where the meeting for
negotiating a global deal is halfway.

This just about sums it up:

"This is a human rights issue - climate change is undermining people's
livelihoods and their access to health and education. It is affecting poor
countries' efforts to reach the Millennium Development Goals. Copenhagen
must deliver deep emission reductions," Robinson said.

That's right, dammit! You TELL the Earth it's a "human rights" issue!

HAHAHAHA! What a bunch of idiots. Next they'll be protesting the Earth is
turning in the wrong direction.

The Politicians HAVE to do something about Climate Change! NOW!!!

I just can't believe they don't see how stupid they sound.

It IS worse, we seem to be committed to the idea that government can
actually stop climate change.

I say we should develop green (clean) energy for the sake of green energy
because clean is better than dirty. The world leaders should stop obsessing
on warming and start driving us towards clean for no other reason that clean
is good.

The planet is gonna do what the planet is gonna do, and we need to do what
we need to do. We can't stop doing stuff, we can only change from doing one
way to doing it another. Reasonable people would gradually make the changes
to clean processes as the existing process wears out or new facilities need
to be built.

If somebody actually made a clean car, there are plenty of people that would
buy it. Nobody needs a government mandate to save money on powering his car.
We just need a car that fulfills our requirements for space, comfort, and
range. If there is an option that fits our needs for 20mpg and another that
fits them for 40mpg, odds are that most consumers will gravitate to the
40mpg option because the cost to operate will be lower, and logic dictates
that it will be green as compared to the 20mpg choice. The 20mpg choice will
soon go away all by itself because there will be no demand for it.

The products we want will dictate the market place. All we need is a market
place with the foresight to bring those products.

Dirty is a local problem, not a global one.
