For the record, I'm in agreement with most everything
Host John ( socks and all ) and Hachiroku have said in <A hRef="http://groups.google.com/group/alt.free.newsservers/index/browse_frm/thread/016614e008f8c410?_done=%2Fgroup%2Falt.free.newsservers%2Fbrowse_frm%2Fthread%2F016614e008f8c410%3Fscoring%3Dd%26&scoring=d&">this thread</A>.

You ( Aratzio ) are all worked up over what ? I've no idea.

I had a Usenet account in 1986 ( uucp )
but was too busy with work and family life to use it.

After two kids, I was done but my ( then ) wife wasn't;
so, in 1988, she divorced me to marry a man who'd give her more kids.

In 1991, I quit dating and started posting.
Personally, I prefer Usenet over work, women and kids.

Judging by your endless posts, I suspect you feel the same.

You couldn't have! Why, Chowderhead himself said it wasn't around back
then!
Ah, yes...uucp. I had forgotten that that was what Usenet was called in
the beginning. Unix-to-Unix Copy Protocol. And you had to actually
WAIT for the messages to propegate, sometimes hours or more before the
packets got pushed along.

But...But...I was on a VAX! We were running VMS, not UNIX! ;)

And the other point was, in order to access Usenet, my account was
traceable. Do you know how weak the security is on VMS? I would open
another terminal, and then CTRL-C and get the $, and name the process
HAX-VAX.

But, it seems poor old Aratzio is "right". It wasn't actually *called*
"Usenet", was it?
